Hawaiian makau bone fish hook whale tail pendant necklace.
This is a beautifully hand-crafted pendant made of natural white water buffalo(Bubalus bubalis) bone in a traditional tribal fish hook design.
Size is 1 3/4" long x 1 1/4" wide, skillfully wrapped, on a 28" brown braided cotton cord necklace with bone bead adjustable sliding knot to any length you need. A 3 fin traditional fish hook ending in a whale's tail.
The ocean has always been the dominant force for the Hawaiian people lived on the bounty of the waters. They had a terrific respect for the creatures on the sea and in particular the whales.
